Asian Capitalism is increasingly gaining attention from multidiscipline and from different regions for its implication on sociological and political theories of Capitalism. The proposed sessions attempt to specifically focus on Welfare, Inequalities, and Institutional Change in East Asia. First session will focus on Asian Capitalism with a comparative perspective and examines the characteristics of welfare institutions. Second session focuses on Politics of Inequality and Social Movements in East Asia. Two sessions composes with papers on - Increasing inequalities in income, assets, employment, etc.; Responses in party politics, social policy, and social movements; Importance of the changes in the East Asian region.

Specific Topics of this session includes East Asian labor market, in equalities in income, education, assets, etc., party politics, social movements, transformation of the East Asian developmental state.
